Hey, strivers, this one is for you! What if you realized what you already have in Christ? What if you lived your life knowing that what matters most, is already yours? Increased joy, worship and gratitude would be yours, for starters. I had a headache one morning, and had been fighting off the effects of what could have been another bout with Covid 19 for a couple of weeks. I was up early (it was 4:30), but even in the midst of my brain fog, the force of Psalm 27 lifted me to an entirely different place:
“One thing I ask from the LORD, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple” (Psalm 27:4).
God made it clear to me through His Word and the conviction of the Spirit that the one thing I want more than anything else—to dwell in His house all the days of my life, to gaze on His beauty, to seek and find Him in His eternal temple—is a certainty. I already have it! It’s an iron-clad guarantee in Jesus. So, I can rest. My day wouldn’t be easy. It wouldn’t be pain-free. There would be challenges, but so what? What I want most, I get! What is most important is certain! Everything else is just extra. When God is good enough for you, you don’t need anything else.
